Bombay Cat

The Bombay cat, given the nickname “mini-panther,” is the product of breeding a sable Burmese with a black American Shorthair. Intended to have the exotic look of a panther, the Bombay cat is an example of a hybrid beed: a breed resulting from the combination of domestic breeds to create a certain appearance. The Bombay cat is medium-sized and has a short-haired, glossy black coat and eyes ranging from gold to copper. Exhibiting attachment and affection, the Bombay cat is considered a suitable choice for families with children or other pets.

The typical Bombay Cat has an overall height of 11.0”-14.0” (28-36 cm) and body length of 13.0”-20.0” (33-56 cm). An average Bombay weighs between 6-11 lb (3-5 kg) and has a typical lifespan of 12-16 years.
