Manx Cat

The Manx cat, originating on the Isle of Man, is an ancient cat breed with a mutation that shortens the tail. A completely tailless Manx is called a Rumpie whereas a stub-tailed Manx is called a Stumpie. Apart from a stump of a tail, this medium-sized cat has long hind legs, a very round face, round cheeks, and big round eyes. Considered “dog-like” in loyalty and activity, the Manx cat is often sought after by farmers as it is known to be a great hunter and will capture any “prey” available from rodents, bugs, and toys.

The typical Manx Cat has an overall height of 10.0”-12.0” (25-30 cm) and body length of 14.0”-16.0” (36-41 cm). An average Manx weighs between 8-12 lb (4-5 kg) and has a typical lifespan of 14-16 years.
