The Aquatic Genet (Genetta piscivora) is a genet that lives in the rainforest east of the Congo River and in the Tshopo District. From past records, their predicted range is evergreen lowland and submontane forests in the Congo Basin. The Aquatic Genet’s dense fur in dark chestnut red without spots or bands; the tail is bushy and black with pale brown underfur. Other traits are a pale head with white spots on the sides of the muzzle and ears free from fur. Aquatic Genets eat mostly freshwater fish including catfish, barbels, squeakers, carps, and crustaceans.
