R2-D2

R2-D2 is a fictional droid and sassy messenger of the Skywalker family in the Star Wars movies and their extended franchise. Though he can understand English, he only speaks in beeps and chirps, usually relying on C-3PO to translate for the rest of the team. He is a skilled astromech droid and fantastic pilot’s assistant. His successful delivery of various messages, such as Princess Leia’s message to Obi-Wan Kenobi, is critical to the success of the resistance. R2-D2 and C-3PO are the only characters to appear in all the films in the original, prequel, and sequel trilogies.

R2-D2, operated by Kenny Baker in Star Wars, is 3 foot 7 inches (1.09 m) tall.
