Siberian Husky

A member of the working group, the Siberian Husky is a large, furry, and mischievous pooch that is best known for its occupation as a sled dog. With origins rooted in Russia, the Siberian Husky was bred to be a pack dog that could pull loads through treacherous, snowy environments. Known for its thick, double coat, triangular ears, and distinct coat pattern, the Husky has an outgoing, upbeat temperament and thrives in the company of other dogs and people. On the flip side, though highly loyal, this family-centric doggie ranks poorly as a watch dog due to its innate friendliness.

Male Siberian Huskys have a withers height between 21”-23.5” (53-60 cm) and a weight in the range of 45-65 lb (20-29.5 kg). Female Siberian Huskys have a withers height between 20”-22” (51-56 cm) and a weight in the range of 35-50 lb (15.9-22.7 kg). The Siberian Husky has an overall body length of roughly 30”-34.5” (76-88 cm), standing height of 26.5”-31” (67-79 cm), and a typical lifespan of 12-14 years.
