Era Chair

Upon perfecting the bentwood chair-making process, German designer Michael Thonet introduced his iconic design for the Era Chair in 1859. The simple and graceful form, articulated by the bentwood construction that diminishes the need for costly and labor intensive hand-carved joints, has been the hallmark dining chair of cafés and residences around the world for the last 160 years.

The Era Chair has an FSC-certified solid beech wood frame that cradles its beech plywood circular seat and is noted for its strength and durability. Now available in a range of heights, the Era Chair can be used as a dining chair, counter stool, or barstool.

The Era Chair has an overall height of 33.25” (85 cm), width of 16.25" (41 cm), and depth of 20.5” (52 cm). The seat height of the Era Chair is set at 18.25” (46 cm).
