Billiards | Pool Table Pockets

Billiard | Pool Tables are engineered with six pockets — one in each corner and two centered on the longs sides. Pockets, varying in design from simple drop pockets to elaborate ball returns, differ in shape and dimension between Corner Pockets and Side Pockets. Corner pockets have openings sized the width of two billiard balls (2 1/4” | 5.7 cm) at 4 1/2”-4 5/8” | 11.4-11.7 cm. Side Pockets have mouths 1/2” | 1.27 cm larger than corner pockets for a total opening of 5”-5 1/4” | 12.7-13.3 cm. The perimeter of a pool table is made up of inner cushions with depths of 2” | 5.1 cm attached to outer rails of 5” | 12.7 cm.

Basketball Rims & Nets

Basketball rims, or hoops, are orange painted goals attached to the backboard and used for scoring points in a game of basketball. Basketball rims today are designed as breakaway rims comprised of a hinge and spring that allow the rim to bend when a player dunks without shattering the backboard. The rim itself is made of a 5/8” | 1.6 cm steel diameter steel rod that is formed into a ring with an inner diameter of 18” | 45.72 cm. Basketball nets are hung from the bottom of the rim with lengths between 15”-18” | 38.1-45.7 cm. Basketball rims are mounted 10’ | 3.05 m from the court floor.

Darts Throwing Distance

The throwing distance in the game of darts is regulated at 7’ 9.25” | 2.37 m from the oche to the front face of the dartboard. Dartboards must be hung on the wall with the center of the bullseye at 5’8” | 1.73 m from the floor—a height established based on the eye-level of a six foot man. Used in professional dart games, a standard oche is 2’ | .6 m wide and 1.5” | 38 mm tall to clearly establish the regulation throwing line. Casual darts environments may choose to use tape or another type of surface marking to identify the oche.

Football | Soccer Goal

Football goals (soccer goals) are located at the center of each opposing goal line of a football pitch and are the boundaries for scoring points (goals) in the game of football. Goals are constructed from wood, metal or any other approved material, painted white, and are typically capped with nets for catching the ball after a goal.

The goal is made of two vertical goal posts at 12’ (3.66 m) from center (24’ | 7.32 m total) and connected by a horizontal crossbar 8’ (2.44 m) high.

Basketball Hoop & Backboard

In basketball, the basket is comprised of a hoop (net) attached to a flat backboard (vertical glass board). Regulation basketball hoops are suspended 10’ | 3.05 m from the playing surface and have a standard rim diameter of 18” | 46 cm. The vertical backboard surface is made of plexiglass or tempered glass to prevent shattering and is sized at 42” x 72” | 110 x 183 cm. Basketball rims are manufactured from high tensile carbon steel to provide the ball with the correct amount of bounce while also having give for players that can dunk.
