A kitchen cart, also referred to as a serving cart or movable kitchen island, is a movable cart with a tabletop surface and storage below. Typically used in kitchens where more space or flexibility is needed, a kitchen cart provides additional preparation space on top for cooking, and provides additional storage space via shelves or drawers below. The shelves below commonly hold items such as pots, pans, plates, and serving dishes. Most kitchen carts have two to four wheels and are made from aluminum or wood, thus allowing the carts to be lightweight and portable.
