Compact Cars

Compact cars are a vehicle class sized between smaller subcompact cars and larger mid-size cars. Equivalent to European C-Segment cars, British small family cars, and Japanese small size passenger vehicles, the North American compact car favors efficient commuting over comfort and performance. The compact car’s smaller size makes them ideal for cities, but they may have difficulty getting up to upper highway speeds. Compact cars have wheelbases in the range of 8’4” | 2.54 m and 9’1” | 2.77 m and interior volumes between 100 ft3 | 2.8 m3 and 109 ft3 | 3.1 m3.
